It was an amazing place to stay.

Beautiful lake views and wonderfully relaxing setting.

The host sent an email at 9:01 with checkout instructions for 10:00. Very late for cleaning. Rule about six bags of trash was ridiculous. Upon arrival, the hot tub was found with a hose still running in it and overflowing. The children are the only ones to get in the hot tub. It was later determined that the water was cloudy, smelled foul and needed maintenance. Venue was not clear that one bedroom was separated from main house. Remote controls for TVs in kitchen & living room were absolutely terrible, barely working even when held close to TV. Insufficient silverware and dinnerware for max guests. Also, pots, pans and cutlery were outdated and the non-stick skillet coating was non existent. Pet fee was charged and venue advertised a fenced in yard. The fence was woefully inadequate for our small dog and the hilly terrain and little sod made it difficult to take the dog on bathroom breaks. The venue is great for younger groups just looking to party but is not a 5 star family venue.

My husband and his friends celebrated his 40th birthday with this stay. It was a perfect option for them.

We loved the cabin “feel” of this beautiful home even though we were right in the middle of plenty of shopping and restaurant options! Stunning home and location!

Our stay was great. Plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms for all guests! The back yard and dock space was beautiful. Quiet, tucked away. The kitchen could be stocked a bit better considering the house is listed to accommodate around 16 people.. but that would be the only con I would mention. Would stay again.

The place is beautiful and so convenient for a group wanting to enjoy the lake. It gives you a sense of being in a private area while still being just minutes from restaurants and stores.

Property was a lovely, peaceful and serene space with a great view and nice amenities. It was a last minute booking on my end but it was worth it and very enjoyable. Would recommend this lake house for a relaxing weekend getaway.

A great spot that looked just like it does in the pictures, a getaway location. There were tons of things to do in the area. But if you just want to get there and relax, there's plenty to do there too.

a wonderful place for our family get together. Everyone had a great time paddling around, using the hot tub enjoying the fire pit with smoores etc.

We enjoyed our stay at the Wylies retreat. The home was very spacious. The kids enjoyed the hot tub. Overall our stay was a 10/10. Will be returning

The good: The home is lovely (aside from a few of the bathrooms being uncomfortably small). It’s well equipped with utensils and towels, and the extra blankets and decor make it very cozy. Lots of toys and games as advertised!

The bad: the management company requires information (PII, contact info and credit card authorizations) outside of the app, which is against AirBnB rules. When pressed, they stood by their requirements. If this happens to you, please call AirBnB right away as their customer service will intervene.

We also had a power outage during our stay (area outage - not their fault!). Unfortunately the company was not prepared - the water did not work. The gate would not open. No flashlights. Real life safety issues, and things easy to rectify with a generator / some manual instruction (they admitted they didn’t know what to do).

The management company staff was very polite, but misguided. They asked me several times not to post a review (also against the rules).

We had an amazing stay! It was private enough but also a lot to do. The views were great and it was an overall relaxing trip for everyone that came.

This home is absolutely gorgeous with lovely lake views and everything you want in a getaway weekend. Our group loved the hot tub and lake access. The kitchen is beautiful, beds were super comfy and bedrooms were beautiful, and the house feels very private. We all loved this house and had a fantastic weekend. The host was helpful in advance of our arrival, allowed us flexible check in because of the dates of our stay, was quickly responsive to questions we had while at the house, and was overall wonderful. Definitely recommend this property!!!

We really enjoyed our time here during the Christmas holiday. The property worked well for my extended family to be able to celebrate together, including my small children and my sister’s dogs. The property management company was extremely responsive and helpful both before arrival and during our stay. When a few hiccups presented themselves, they did their best to help almost immediately. The house was a bit more rustic than it appeared in the photos, but the location was beautiful and there were many thoughtful touches.

Spent time with family. The view was great and the place was comfortable to stay and spend time together.

What an amazing spot. We rented the cabin for our business conference here in Charlotte. Our team loved it so much that a few of them might look into renting it with their families in the summer. Highly recommend.

Serene and accurate. Neighbor has dogs unfortunately that woke everyone at 4am when a doe wandered into the yard with nonstop barking.

Our family of 12 gathered for the weekend. We never left the Lake House. We loved having full access to kayaks and paddleboards with all the safety equipment for all ages. The firepit was wonderful. Bedrooms were spacious. We couldnt find the blow-up mattress but were delighted that the bunk beds were double sized not twin! Our host was responsive. Unfortunately, a few planned family activities were delayed, due to lack of internet access however, we have our own techy in the family that eventually troubleshooted to success. Plenty to do right at the Lake House!

The house is beautiful! Very spacious, neat ana clean. Our family enjoyed our stay. There’s not many pictures of the rooms in the listing which had me worried but they’re just as beautiful as the rest of the house .

Came here for a family wedding. Had plenty of room for the family, with space to be alone when you wanted to. The bonus house was a great option for privacy from the main house. Early mornings on the deck drinking coffee with a lake view was so peaceful. I would recommend this place to anyone.

Loved this spot on Lake Wylie - We spent most of our time gathering outdoors with the deck, fire pit, and dock. Plenty of room for 11 adults and 2 infants. WiFi was spotty for working from home.

Lake Wylie Retreat was an amazing vacation spot. The kitchen was stocked with stainless steel cookware, crockpot, and multiple coffee making options. The house was also stocked with household items such as toilet paper, paper towels, dish soap, dishwasher detergent, laundry detergent, trash bags, ground coffee, coffee filters, and some cooking spices, which was a great touch. The house also had so many items to make the lake enjoyable fire pit, kayaks, paddle boards, and beach towels. All you need to do is show up! The host was very proactive with their communication. We had no issues the entire stay. By far the best Airbnb I’ve stayed in yet.

Our family had a wonderful time here! The house is perfect for large groups, with lots of outdoor space and fun things to do!

We had such a wonderful stay at Wiley's Retreat. The dock on the lake got the most action. Kayaking, fishing and sunning all day long. The porch furniture is all so comfortable, but especially the oversized chairs. They are perfect for sinking into with a good book or just to sit and watch the squirrels run around the treetops at eye level. The house was well stocked with amenities, including coffee and tea, such a lovely touch.

This was definitely a great place to spend a week with my groomsmen to celebrate my upcoming marriage and birthday. Our hosts were extremely helpful especially as we had some internet issues. My only recommendation to our hosts would be to clean up some of the cobwebs by the water but even that wasn’t a showstopper. Really enjoyed the stay!

Okay, honest review...

PROS:
The outdoor space was gorgeous and even nicer than expected. Back porch is a generous size and accommodated the 13 of us beautifully. Lake was quiet, paddle boards were fun, landscaping was downright impressive.

CONS:
1. We only stayed for 2 nights and 2 of the 3 AC units didn't work 1 night. We had melted skincare and AWFUL sleep. Host had us check breakers and hunt for batteries in the middle of the night (which didn't solve it). We felt like we were the maintenance crew. Honestly, this was a huge bummer and it didn't feel good that they never offered to refund for that night, which would have been fair.

2. We also had 13 people there and were provided with 8 towels and maybe 4 washcloths to share.

3. The way this place is renovated, there are NO private bathrooms. I think the listing shows that but it wasn't super clear. The 4th bathroom is in the basement and is... scary. No one used it. So 3 bathrooms for 13 people was tough.

We were here with a large nonprofit group and it was absolutely gorgeous inside and out and perfect in every way!! Oh and excellent communication as well! We will be back 100%!!!

It’s a beautiful home.

We came to the Charlotte area looking for a relaxing weekend on the lake and this property did not disappoint. We prepared several meals, enjoyed the fire pit, and took the kayaks for a spin around the lake. We also enjoyed relaxing on the balcony and the dock, soaking in the peaceful surroundings.

Would definitely stay here again!

Me and family came from Michigan to visit our sister and her family. We was able to communicate with Halara and have Easter Sunday together all because they allowed us to have guests over The home is really nice and we love the lake view we will be back

it was a good experience

Had the birthday of my dreams here. I was able to host a dinner party of 30 people with the host’s approval. The deck and views were perfect. The beds are so comfortable and clean. We loved our entire stay. Definitely will be coming back.

Very cool place with lots of character and right on water. Lots of space for large family and plenty of things to do on the property. Beautiful surroundings. Host are super responsive.
